Being aware of SPAM

Group:  A sure way to tell if a message is spam is when words are intentionally either misspelled or there are spaces or underlines in the words.  That's how spammers get around blocked messages.  Anyone with half a brain would know those deliberate misspellings and added letters in words did not come from the list.

And, of course, leaving your computer "on" all the time, especially when you have a high speed internet connections is not a bright thing to do.  Just because you can doesn't mean you should.  The few seconds it takes to call up your ISP is worth the security you have of not being an open door to the world.   My computer is never on unless I'm in my public e-mail address (Yahoo) mode.  When I use my private address. I'm only on for a few seconds to get my mail, then I'm off.

You don't leave your car idling in the garage just because you might want to go for a ride in the next 8 hours.  Why should you keep you computer on (even in 'sleep' mode)?

Regards,  Bob

Bill and others, this is NOT from the IML. Someone got into someone's
computer and spoofed their email addresses. This is a common spammer
practice. In this case someone not practicing safe computing got a
virus which sent the email addresses back to the originator who created
this email to APPEAR to have come from the IML. It did not. You can
pursue whatever action you choose but to be 100% sure you never get any
spam, you will have to take your computer off the net. Sad to say but
that's life.
