We have one of those (superfortress) by our main gate at Lackland Air
Force Base. Indeed they do have 18 cylinder engines and are quite
impressive and complex to behold. Curious as to the where(s) of their
construction.

Ouch! That should be the B-29 Superfortress, and they were 18 cylinders
(two rows of nine). Careful with those facts!
