Non- Imperial subjects/Rules reminders

Hi,
In answer to what is ok on the list and what is not,

It's very hard to draw a line in the sand on these
things from the admin side. Many threads start out
fine but drift off in to never never land.. Like WD40
being good for fishing bait and the debate over
whether a Bugatti(sp?) is really a production car so
can it be counted against caddy limos for size..
The towing thread and performance curve threads were
on the cusp of entering this territory and thats why
they were included in the general "cease and desist"
e-mail. When things start getting too far out we
start getting complaints from members or, even worse,
they just leave the list.

We have a second mailing list called the salon
where more "off-topic" conversations are allowed. It
was originally created just for the purpose of
continuing conversations like these and to talk about
other cars compared to Imperials, etc.. There aren't
as many rules there and it was intended for those of
us, like you and me, who enjoy the technical
discussions more. Unfortunately that list rarely gets
any posts at all.

I hope you can understand the balancing act we try to
pull off to keep all 600+ members of the list happy.
If you ever have suggestions about how to make the
list better or concerns that you would like to see
addressed I, and the rest of the admin team, would
like to hear from you. I would also invite you to
join the admin team and help us make the decisions on
when these things are going out of control and when
they are within bounds.
