Where to look?

I have looked at a '59 for parts, and everything is the same but different, between '59 and '60.  My thought regarding interchange is no.  Why they bothered to monkey with almost every little thing has been a topic of discussion lately among my friends.  Anyway, there is very little that I am aware of that can be swapped among the two years.  Richard B.

Hello All

The Restoration Process on my '59 LeBaron continues on (slower than I would wish but it is continuing). You may recall that this is a complete frame off restoration that was to be finished by May 1 (yes, this year). It now looks like May 1 will arrive at least three months late.

There are two parts that I have not been able to find. They are
1. The driver's exterior door handle (casting number 1750183). Obviously finding an NOS one would be a dream come true! Since I don't believe this will happen I have been looking for one that can be replated. I have tried Lowell Howe, Bob Hofmeister and Phil Juliano and while Phil located one it turned out to be cracked and pitted to the point that it simply was not satisfactory.
2. The exterior strip of chrome that fits on the driver's door (casting number 1960511). This strip is unique to the LeBaron. I have tried the same suppliers and no luck.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks

Mel
