Bill and Elaine, Congratulations on your recent Ebay purchase of your '75 Imperial! Glad it is what you had hoped it would be and everything works properly! I am with Neal on this one. If the 8 track player works, I'd remove the aftermarket CD unit and re-install the 8 track. The dash will look original as it did when the car was new. I really hate to see an otherwise pristine instrument panel 'visually damaged' with a non-factory device stuck in it! I recently removed (with considerable frustration and expense I might add) the aftermarket Oldsmobile stereo/cassette player in my '66 Toronado. I replaced it with a factory AM/FM unit and the instrument panel looks wonderful. After much tinkering and repairs by the radio technician here in Mobile, the unit plays fine and when I cruise in the car, I have that wonderful vintage sound! In my opinion, the original unit needs to go back in the dash. You can find 8 track tapes at flea markets and of Ebay.
