You could swap the crankshaft from the 60 into the other engine, presuming that the main and rod journals are ok and that the specs for all the bearings and such are within limits. This would let you use the trans and such for the 60 and still have the later block. The practical real world side of this is usually going to mean that some crank machine shop work may be in order to ensure the bearings for the mains and rods are within specs, and of course you have to drop the trans to get the cranks exchanged, plus a bunch of other work. If youre existing block is bad, and you cannot find another one anywhere, then this is an option.
