Broken Bolt removal

Patrick,

if you have at least 1/2" of thread there in the hole where the bolt is already out, you can use another shorter bolt, or better yet use a headless bolt (like the kind they use on carburetors) and leave the remains of the bolt alone if it's permantly stuck in there. Use the headless bolt, and just use a washer and nut on the outside of the water pump to secure it back on. At least then you can move the car or drive it. Keep an eye on the gasket area where you applied the heat you will probably have a leak there, but hopefully not too bad. At least You can drive it to a shop and get both those pesky bolts out and replaced.
