Spark Plugs

My '72 Newport Custom Sedan had a perpetual problem of plug fouling. This
has subsided with a timing chain replacement, after the original nylon
coated cam gear disintegrated. My plugs stay clean now, and I don't have to
punch the throttle to the floor to get enough manifold vacuum to take the
choke off of high idle with the new timing chain/cam gear. I wish I would
have done this job earlier, it was easy if a little time consuming to do.

I am with you. I never had a problem with any particular brand of plug. I
did have plug trouble if the engine was not driven enough or worn out, the
choke was sticky or stuck closed, or I left them in too long. None of those
things were the fault of the plug.
