Unexpected 1960 Imperial models

Last Sunday, a member of the museum's HO model railroad club asked me to
help him identify some model cars. They were on a model train car
transporter, the old fashioned, open, kind. Imagine my surprise when a
significant number of them turned out to be 1960 Imperials, complete with
silver "Imperial" script on the side. The other cars were all full size
Mopars, some nice convertibles, some station wagons and some coupes.

In my line of work, I have never seen such an HO Mopar model before. That
is has Imperials is quite a bonus. (HO is a size of model, just in case not
everyone is familiar with the term. It is the most common size of model
railroad. They are pretty small, much smaller than Lionel.) The camera I
have right now is not good enough to give the level of detail that the
models have. A friend with a good digital is going to take some snaps. I
dare say even Kenyon has not seen anything quite like this. The model,
complete with its cars, is around forty years old. Its owner is not going
to part with it. It is in great shape.
