I, too, used FUTURE on the black vinyl roof of a 1969 B****ville years ago. It looked GREAT until the first rain. The white spots were nearly impossible to remove.

In using anything for
something other than its intended purpose I would be concerned about the potential for unwanted effects such as the yellowing that Greg brought up here.
