Well, if we all got in and out of our cars the way we're "supposed to," swivel seats would make more sense. According to doctors, the way most of us get in a car is bad on the back. The "correct" way is to face away from the seat, sit down as if sitting on a chair, then turn and pull your feet in-- just like you would with a swivel chair. But it takes too much time, I guess.
I'm not a doctor, I just play one on the IML. :)

In a daily driver (like mine was), they were just another gadget whose novelty soon disappeared.
