Well, we tried this, sort of, on my 58. I had an intractable pocket of air at the rear wheel on the driver's side and, lordy, we tried just about everything to get rid of it. We used the hand vacuum thingy put it was ineffective. It was also a struggle to keep the master cylinder sufficiently full of fluid. By this time we had swapped over to a dual pot M/C and they were pretty easy to empty, being smaller than the original single pot. Once a proper pressure bleeder was found that we could use on the car, my problems were over in, literally, minutes. The trapped air that resisted being expelled after so much effort with the brake pedal and an attempt with an admittedly very small vacuum pump was gone in just a moment or two. To be able to apply the brakes with confidence was a major moment for me and my time with the car, as you might imagine. Hugh
