I know that you have already seen this from several others, but I also suggest
that the problem is the ignition switch. Your symptoms are the first step to
failure of the modern switches. I have had this happen on three '80s cars
during the last five years. Sometimes fiddling with the key will bring things
back up, but eventually it may keep the car from running.
