Hillman fasteners has these. Call around to some of the hardware
stores in
your area and ask if they stock Hillman fasteners. If so chances are
they have
them in stock.

Subject: IML: 1970 fasteners needed
Okay, this is for a '70 New Yorker-- but hey, a New Yorker is
really an un-gussied up Imperial! And I think the same fasteners were
used on fuselage Imperials.
These are used to hold sound deadening
& insulating material inside the passenger compartment onto the
firewall. They're made out of black plastic and are about 2"
long. They sort of look like screws, but you don't screw 'em in, you
push 'em in. They are designed to push in but not pull out. The
first 1" is smooth, then the next inch has ribs on it (please, no jokes)
designed to hold it in place. The head is a flat circular disc of
plastic and has a hole in the center.
Anyway, I was removing some of
this padding and broke a couple of these fasteners. The autoparts
stores here ain't got 'em.
Anybody have any? Or know of a source
for them?
Muchas gracias, Mark M
