There is a lot of information about this problem on the IML site. Search the
archives and the other technical help postings for a detailed procedure. To
answer your question, it has to come off to be repaired. You can do it
yourself or you can take it to a "tank renew" outfit and have it done
professionally - I believe it costs around $300, but don't hold me to that.
