I continue to be amazed by the resources of this
group and have a couple suggestions to everyone.
1- Go to the appropriate year-by-year page and read
EVERYTHING!, follow every link. Also go to similar pages for similar
years. For instance, most everything on a 73 also applies to 70-72 and
some 69. Same with 57 through 58 and further. There may well be a post
that answers your question.
2- READ the repair section before you post your
question it might be quicker than waiting for someone to reply and cuts down on
repetitive questions that clutter up the list. Chris Trettin has done an
amazing job of pulling together information from the mailing list and
consolidating it in the on-line manual. In addition, there is a huge
amount of information readily available from complete shop manuals to how-to's
for many subjects. While at Anniston this weekend, the gas tank float I
had repaired on my 300 (same in most all Mopars) sank. I had heard that
some Ford floats were the same. I could see myself trying to convince the
Ford parts guy to go look until he found a float that would work. I went
to the repair section, fuel, followed a few links and guess what. The ford
part number is OCAZ-9202-B. Total time from question to answer, about 45
seconds. By they way, they cost a whopping $3.25. I bought a
spare.
