If your valve guides were shot your engine would be burning oil and the
plugs would be oil fouled. Carbon fouling on plugs is caused by :
- too rich a fuel mixture
- excessive idiling
- dirty air filter
- weak ignition
- improperly operating heat riser
- defective fuel pump
