tips on taking ac off?



You need to have both belts in place and tight or the water pump will squeal
like a stuck pig.  On my 73 (for sale) the lower pully was badly out of
alignment because it had once been hooked to an air pump.  The pump was
removed and someone just stuck an idler pulley on.  It did not line up and
the belt was worn out.  I just cut the belt off and the squealing began and
stayed until I modified the pulley frame so it was in correct alignment (Cut
apart and welded back to gether)
