I always took that phrase ("dead straight") to mean "it looks OK if you're dead drunk", especially when used by a dealer. I liked the look of this car primarily because it has black plates from the right letter series for 1967 (meaning it has always been in California), looks pretty much original, has a very nice dash pad (of which I am quite envious!) and still has the original upholstery to use for patterns. At $725, it seemed almost worth my running up there to snap it up (but not quite!).
