Your experience is almost universal. From the time I first made this switch on my 69 LeBaron in 1975 to this date, I have done or coached others to do this exchange probably 20 times, and I've yet to have anyone report disappointment. Like many automotive designs, when they were new and unmolested, the Holley 4160s were very good carburetors, but once they have been fiddled with, they are almost impossible to get back right again. The cast parts warp from mistreatment and there is no way to recover without major expense. If one has a good operating Holley, there is no reason to change it, but once it begins to give trouble, the end is near!
