Dedy, I deduce that the car has always been stored indoors no matter how neglected. That being the case, I would say that it should not be repainted, because the paint should still be serviceable no matter how worn, and the paint is only original once! My thoughts don't account for rust, and if your tropical climate promotes such degradation regardless of storage, then my advice might be too conservative. As far as the interior goes, replacement of the deteriorated soft goods would not be detract from the car's originality any more than their poor condition would detract from enjoying the car.
