Need help with window motors

Wayne,

There is an excellent rebuilder in San Antonio.  Fast, friendly and very reasonable.  The museum gets all its stuff done at Win Brisbin.  Is San Antonio too far?  We take them stuff like the starter motor for the 1924 Buffalo fire truck or the 1929 REO and usually get them back within a day.  They did the starter for my Imperial in only a few hours.

Interestingly, I rebuilt the window motors for the 1958 myself.  This was just when I was starting out and did not know I could not do it myself.  Now, of course, I know better and probably would not even try.  Two of the motors had been in water, as the drainage slots in the bottom of the door had clogged up.  Getting the motors apart was hugely fun.  My colleague at the time is an electrical engineer and winced at the size of the hammers I used!  No one, except maybe me, was more surprised than him when I got them to work.  Providing yours are not burnt out, taking them apart and cleaning everything will probably do the trick.  Getting them rebuilt, re-wound, etc, simply may not be necessary.

Subject: IML: Need help with window motors

My 66 Lebaron (Drysdale) needs someone to rebuild his window motors or to provide replacement ones. I want some that are rebuilt, since this has turned into a "let's do it once and do it right" kind of project. Does anyone know of a rebuilder?
Thanks
Wayne
