The tailight wiring comes from a separate pin on the headlight
switch (because you must have the tailight on in the parking
light position and in the headlight position). The pin is stamped
"T" on the back of the switch but itsn't very easy to access
(mirror ?). Try to remove the tailight wire (black wire) from the
switch and look at your tailights. If they are off the switch has
to been remove (not easy..)and replaced or repaired , if the
lights are still on you've some shortcircuit between the switch
and the lights.
