6 volt vs 12 volt

I only have my experience, but my Father's 1937 Royal still had the 
original 6 volt battery when he sold it in 1957. and my 1938 Imp still
had its original battery when sold in 1959.  But then, you may not think 
20+ years of daily driving is very long.
