HELP! I overheated/Is it done/adapter gasket found

Yep,
I already ordered the gasket.  Only the dealer had it $5.  There also is a 
seal on the bolt another $5. Getting it Thursday. Dick, the small blocks 
have an adapter, a big bolt I have been told is 1 1/4 inch (thanks manhattan 
Jack) holds it in. The bolt has seals on both ends and there is a gasket 
behind the whole thing.  Hopefully the adapter isn't warped and the car will 
hold oil.
Also, Dick the temp light never came on w/o water, but later when I drove it 
with the burnt oil :(  mistake #2, the light came on so I think the sensor 
and the wire/bulb are all good.
