Something strange here. My understanding of the electrically assisted choke
is that the heater is used to shorten the time that the choke is in use, to
reduce emissions. If it were left unhooked, I'd expect the car to run
correctly UNTIL it was warmed up, but to stumble and run too rich just after
this period.
3 or 4 minutes doesn't sound excessive to me - and of course the
electrically assisted choke has the same routine regardless of ambient
temperature, so it wouldn't be any different at 75 degrees from what it is
at 25 degrees, as far as the time of operation.
