If you intend to drive it any distance, a basic flush using a minimal amount of radiator flush would be a good place to start. If you put too much in you'll be flushing that much longer until all is removed. I would also change the thermostat and make sure you install the proper temp rating.You may find the current thermostat is hogged up with rust in either the opened or closed position which would contribute to overheating. Some older engines called for a rust inhibitor to be added to the system, but eventually the system will need to be flushed. Also make sure your radiator cap is the proper rating for that engine...i.e. 10-12lbs or 12-14 lbs.Most of the information you would need should be in the owners manual. Good Luck.
