hi david,on the bottom of the tail shaft ,under or by the mount is a
small plate with two screws holding it on,remove it and you will see a
large snap ring,,spread it open fully with snap ring plyers and pull the
tail shaft off..the snap ring holds the tail shaft housing to the rear
bearing on the main output shaft...rick,
