I was wondering...awhile back i was involved in an accident...the result was
that my hood popps open from time to time...and i was wondering if this
popping up would affect the flow of my carb..or air filter..Are there any
problems that i should be aware of???..Is this negatively effecting my
engine and any other parts....

You should get that hood latch repaired. I had my hood pop up once while on
the freeway on-ramp. The wind, at 30 MPH, caught the hood and slammed it back
against the windshield. Meanwhile, you can't see anything. I was lucky, only
doing 30 mph. I could see the solid left painted line of the single lane I was
in and I slowed down without a problem. It would have been really nasty if it
had popped up when I was doing 70 mph on the freeway.
Your safety catch may not catch it next time.
