Randy, I do have an excellent mechanic, who does work on only classic cars,
and although he does mostly Chevy's since they are the most popular classic
car, I've seen a variety of cars in his shop at any given time. The cars
range from 30's era in line 12 Linclon's, old Caddies, and Mercury's. This
guy is a genius, since he can figure out a solution and create a part if one
does not exist. He works on any cars as long as they are American and old,
but he also races and builds funny cars, which I have also seen in his garage
at times. I have a great time when I go there, since I usually get to meet
and compare notes with other old car owners, and my Imperial usually becomes
the center of attention. I am not in the Inland Empire, but in Mission Viejo,
Ca where my mechanic is also. I bought my car in Ontario, Ca., but with the
new 241 toll road, the trip from Ontario to Mission Viejo only takes about
half an hour. My mechanic is a little pricey, and rarely gives an inch, but
he loves to sit and talk, and because of this we've become pretty good
friends, and I am now referred to around his shop as Imperial Bill, which is
a name I can proudly live with. He also loves my car, and thinks it has more
character than most of the oldies. If you don't think Mission Viejo is too
far contact me off the list for his address. I've also gotten nothing but
rave reviews about him from his other customers, and they all tell me I
couldn't have brought my car to a better place! He's also got customers from
as far away as Santa Barbara.
