Imperial Awakening

Hi All,
Just had to relate a quick story... got back from cruise night this evening, and after parking the Barracuda back in the garage, I fired up the '63 to move it up by the door.  Having just gotten her running on 8 cylinders last night, I was quite pleased at how solid and quiet the car sounded.  "What the heck, might as well go for a short ride".
I drove a half mile down my road, and swung into my buddies house... another Mopar nut.  He said "Take me for a ride in this old beast", so off we went.

A mile or so down the road, he stopped what he was talking about mid sentence, and said something like "I can't believe how nice this rides!".  It was truly amazing.  Now, this is not a garage queen or a clean survivor; 6 weeks ago it was sitting behind a barn in Iowa.  And it's gotten very little in the way of attention since then.

We both marvelled at the solid, quiet, stable ride.  It's been quite windy here in Michigan, and it was more like being in a brick building than in a car.  I've heard you all talk of it before, but had never experienced it firsthand.  It's really amazing, and quite difficult to describe... it's more of an overall feel or sensation, as opposed to a specific attribute.   I can't wait to get more time behind the wheel!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...  I still can't believe that all these years I just thought Imperials were simply a high trim level Chrysler.  I still love my C-Bodies, but this is definately a different piece of machinery.

I'm more geeked than ever about the car and getting it roadworthy.  Thanks for your support and encouragement to this point, and thank you in advance for the stuff I'll be pestering everybody with in the coming weeks!

Man, what a car...
