Well, you had me all wound up for the Arlington swap meet. Oh well, now I can put the Jeep transfer case back together this weekend after all. Brooks DOES have an interesting array of cars, tho you should know in advance that Brooks' friends accuse him of running an indoor wrecking yard. (No, nothing is for sale!). The Imperial portion is a '61 4-dr. Southampton which needs the radiator stuck back in (got a new one, it's sitting there gathering dust), and a '63 Crown Convertible which came mostly disassembled. I subsequently removed the hood and trunk lid, the right-hand door, and the front clip. Photos of this car may be viewed thusly: groups.yahoo.com search for autobodyrestoration (all 1 word). Go to that group and click on "Photos" (on the left). Find the ones that start out "Brooks....". Try not to hurt yourselves laughing. (;-D) Also, Brooks is neither a "neat-nick" nor a person whose surroundings would make him appear to be "organized", tho he can usually lay his hands on anything he wants because he can remember where he laid it down last. At the current time, unfortunately, this situation has also migrated itself to the house, which is in North Dallas, 28 miles south of Pilot Point, and which is why the house doesn't currently accept visitors, but is going to have to be somewhat whipped into shape before the end of April due to inbound guests. But that ain't gonna happen by this weekend. (I was not born with the chromosome that allows people to keep their own houses clean.) The cars etc. are all up just south of Pilot Point, in the country, in my 5,000 sq. ft. metal building. You are all more than welcome to come look, kick the tires, laugh, write your names in the dust, poke fun, roll your eyes, give me "that look" like my other friends do, etc.; just don't think this is a museum tour. (;-D) So just tell me where we are all hooking up Saturday morning, or Friday night, or whatever..... and I'll be there in something! (I have 14 cars, but only 4 are currently registered/insured/being driven). Daily driver: $800 '84 Fiero. Hugh, you were looking for activities. Have you ever been to Fair Park to the Science Place? The Omni Theatre located there? There is also Old City Park in downtown Dallas -- I hear a lot about it, but never been there. And the Farmers Market is always fascinating -- we have a large one in a permanent location. Downtown Pilot Point, there is a bank which was once robbed by Bonny & Clyde, tho it's no longer the bank, but the building is still there. Picturesque. I think it's being used as part of the city offices (???). There is also an absolutely fabulous State Park near there on Lake Ray Roberts, but you have to pay to get in. Might be a thought if everyone wanted to have a picnic??..... The West End is a real swinging part of Downtown Dallas, particularly at night, but also on Sunday or Saturday daytime for lunch. It's more enjoyable if the weather's nice and you can be outside (I will tell you on Saturday if the weather is nice or not -- 15 minutes into the future is as far as we can semi-accurately predict the weather). Everyone already toured The 6th Floor, the museum about the Kennedy assassination, I presume? If not, it's an absolutely-do-not-miss attraction. There's also the Love Field Antique Car Mall. Never been there, just heard of it. Don't even know if it's still there. Well, that's my thoughts on possible attractions / side tours / things-to-see....... It's hard when U live here to think what people from out-of-town might like to see. Looking forward to meeting everyone, whoever's coming! --Brooks in Dallas hugh hemphill wrote: >Hello again.
