'57 Torqueflite (4 and last ..)

I'm at a loss to understand where "condensation" comes from in a
transmission.  Condensation in an engine is of course a product of
combustion gasses getting into the crankcase from ring blowby, but there is
no such source in a transmission.  The only source of condensation I can
imagine would be from humid air impacting the cool casting above the fluid
level, but this must surely be a minuscule amount of moisture, and well
taken care of by the vent.  Perhaps if the vent is absolutely sealed, the
small amount would remain, but I cannot see how it would build up enough to
do damage if the case is truly sealed.
