Besides my full sized cars, I trade and sell model
cars on eBay occasionally. One supplier I have found for model Imperials is
Steve at Beaners Hobbies. Here is a pic of a 58 Imperial Hardtop I won from
him on an auction on eBay.
He has 58's and 59's in stock, both hardtop
and convertible versions. By the way, the name of the pic in the link above is
wrong, it's a hard top not a convertible. Anyway, you can get a look at the pic
and see how the kits look, his auctions usually start at $39.95, that's what I
paid for the 58 Imperial hardtop kit in the picture. These are resin kits, so
regular glues won't work, but you can use almost any type of paint without
hurting the resin. Be forewarned, there are more brittle than kit plastic, so a
bit more care must be taken not to bend them. Anyway, his e-mail is Beaners131@xxxxxxx
Or just search beaners hobbies on ebay.
If there is enough interest, he may expand his line
to include 65, 66, 67 and 68 Imperials, maybe others.
He didn't ask me to do this, I just figured that
Imperial models are hard to come by, and finding a source for them, is info that
should be shared here. |
