I was at the DeSoto Warren Plant from 1952 to 1954 so
I was probably there at the same time as your Dad. I was one of the Resident
Motor Engineers helping the DeSoto manufacturing personnel build a new 276 cu.
in. V-8 hemi engine. I think we called it the "FireDome V-8". I was less than
two years out of the Chrysler Institute of Engineering master's degree
program so I doubt that I was much help to them - but I learned a lot! There
were two DeSoto manufacturing plants about 1/2 mile apart. The Warren Plant
built the bodies and the engines and then both were shipped to the Wyoming
Pant for vehicle assembly.
