As far as fin-size is concerned, are we talking here about actual
square-inch (foot?) size, or fin-height? From the ground, or from the
bottom-line of the car itself?
There was a posting a few months ago from, I believe, John Corey, of 1961
convertible-fame, who discussed this matter when attending what I seem to
remember was an invitation-only event in Michigan. He was parked near a 1959
Cadillac, and the subject came up regarding which car had the tallest fins.
It seemed to me that it was close, and that it would be necessary to have
both cars as close as possible to factory specs for ride height, but I
think, if I recall correctly, that the Imp had the edge (well... actually,
the Cadillac has the EDGE...that could kill); this would, I think, mean that
the 1960 Imperial would stand about the same as the '61.
I think the shape of the Cadillac fin is such that it looks taller and
very striking (and is sharper) when not sitting right next to a '61 Imp.
Maybe John could weigh in again...

Hi Don,
Cadillac is generally credited with holding the record for all your
questions.. being the first ( 1948 models) and the largest (1959 models)
and the last ( the1964 models) although, we all know Imperial did it better.
