Heck! I am 17 years old and I love my 64 Crown! I'ts perfect for long trips. If your a teen and have CD players and stuff like that, the cigarret lighters on each door comes in handy to charger the batteries. Sure, I have a 66 383 Charger and a 69 Coronet wagon, but that battle cruiser of a car is wonderfull. Those people that call our works of art "OLD MANS CAR" are just jelous that our car looks better than thiers. They wish that the brand new car they have has power seats. (Which are really cool because now I can see over the dash being as i'm short:) The Imperial was way ahead of it's time, it's pretty luxo even for today. Here's an interesting thought: On the way home after I just bought my 64, two blocks latter, I saw a nice 63 at another used car lot. What were the odds!!!! This was not to long ago so it might still be there in Reno, Nevada. -----Original Message----- From: mailing-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mailing-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of mamrom@xxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2007 4:00 AM To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: IML: Is it a Old Man's car or Prestiage driving? My Question: When, exactly, did Cadillacs, Lincolns and our beloved IMPERIALS go from being a prestige car to an "old people" car, at least in the eyes of reviewers. Surely the prestigious people that bought them as late as 1974 could not all have reached old age by 1987!?! I cannot believe fuel economy is the cause either, after all the 1980s Broughams can get 20 mpg on the highway, not too shabby for the 1980s! When did successful people switch from Cadillacs to BMWs and Lexuses, and what was it that did it? Because surely a successful 40 year old in 1975 would buy a CaddyImperial or Lincoln , not a BMW. What made him decide that by age 50 Caddies/Imperials were too "old man?" ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com ----------------- This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
