Restoring old cars can be very expensive.  A rare car car will have few parts available, thus acquiring parts for it will cost much more than those for a Ford or Chevy.  Some models of Imperials command more money than others.  Convertibles from the fifties and sixties are skyrocketing in price because they are rare and very unusual.  If you're looking to get your money out of a restored car you will probably be disappointed.  If you want a restored car I suggest you go to the better auctions and buy one there.  Usually you can buy one for allot less than the owner spent on the car and you can use it immediately.  Others love to work on and drive their cars...it is a labor of love.  Doing the work yourself will save you a bunch of money and when people tell you how wonderful it is you will feel even better because you did the work and they are admiring your work and your car.  I have 2 1957 Imperials.  One is a 2dr Southhampton that is in nice shape, interior is pretty good and is mechanically sound.  I had my mechanic repair all the little things wrong with the car.  Soon I will polish all the interior chrome and will have a really nice driver that people will stll admire and the car is fun to drive.  I am also restoring a '57 Crown convertible...ground up restoration...huge investment.  I may have to wait many years to get my money back, so this is now something I suggest for the faint of heart.

I don?t think it?s that people are not interested in the cars for sale.  Most people are watching finances pretty close right now.  The US Dollar is losing ground against the Euro right now and the price of fuel is going through the roof.  Plus Winter is coming up quick (except for our Australia and New Zealand friends).  People are just weighing the importance of ?wants? vs. ?needs?.

 It appears there is no interest in the two Imperials I had located?a 60 and 61 4 dr Southhamptons?and that I had listed on this forum. Thus I have dropped that project altogether.  I had thought there would be people looking for Imperials because they are so rarely seen, but apparently not at this time anyway.  Just wanted to let you-all know.
