Re: IML: 1957 Quad headlights

Hello Hugh

Thanks for the message.
We are interested in the number of the headlights.
When we found 58 Imperial, we met the workman who made original "Pointer" to show the photograph of the 58.
When showing him a photograph, he said this car was different!
The car which was obtained for him to make "Pointer" is 57.
Probably, the car has single head light.
We were surprised when we heard the story but we judged that there was not a problem about the light when we made "Pointer".

Yasushi,

Quad headlights, or two on each side, were banned in several states up to 1957. Some manufacturers ignored the rule. Chrysler Corp. made 1957s with two different headlamp styles to stay in compliance. The ban was gone by 1958.
