Fellow Imperialist's:
I have come to know Dick
via this mystery of technology -to this Polock it still is- and have
had as a result many exchanges which were heavily weighted in my favor,
for he was giving away freely what the finest of school's could never teach
nor offer: life experience with engineering long since forgotten or deemed
as unnecessary by too many. With today's youngsters now
unwilling to learn by hand in this want-it-now world,
it was a dream to have a man of his character and willingness 'behind'
me; just another electrical impulse from
thousands of miles away sharing a love affair with old steel cars, bound
together through a common interest list as I undertook my first Imperial
[for the record, the 1956 Imperial is his favorite year], and yet he treated me
as if I grew up next door on his mountain, and knowing he could be counted on
for an intelligent answer to the most minutiae of problems was/is gold in the
bank and one of the main reasons I persevered.
I am with Gary and would
hope the Club Powers That Be politely REFUSE this request and offer him
"Member Emeritus" status on whatever terms he desires......and if it is
necessary Dick to leave, I already miss your kilowatts of electrical wisdom and
old car enthusiasm.......
