It would seem possible. The cooling is caused by the pressure of the 
gas, and not electricity. The blowers and compressor clutch would have 
to be adapted to run on 6 volts. Also, modern systems employ an 
electrical pressure switch that would need attention. I think the most 
work would be to create the apparatus required to mount the compressor, 
etc. in the engine compartment.

If your handy with tools you can probably do it. If not, money talks.

I too would like to retain the 6 volt system and need to add A/C....can
