RE: IML: Great restoration product

I think they are all phosphoric acid based products.   I have used extend or rather my brother used it once on a car I had sanded and was prepping for paint.  Extend left a non-featheredge coating that had to be removed before I could continue.  I prefer the straight
phosphoric acid converters such as Ospho or the blue type by POR 15.  Which is also pretty great for floorboards and trunks after you wire wheel off as much rust as you can remove mechanically.

I do not know about "Extend".

The only other product that I have used which is similar to Rust Convertor from Klean Strip is the Eastwood "Rust Convertor" product #12556/12559.

The Eastwood product is water based, brush applied and more durable. With this product I had problems with adhesion with a top coat and the color was slightly purple, less transparant and brush applied.  I think that the Eastwood product would do well where Miracle paints are used.

The product that I discussed is good for minor suface rust with surrounding original paint. You can spray it on and not really worry where you spray it and everything looks better, the surface rust and the original paint.

Thanks,
How does this product differ from "Extend"?
