Does anyone in the group know Bob/Robert Gidney who lived in West, TX? I used to visit with him years ago when I made trips to/from Luling, TX. West is located right on I-35 north of Waco. He had seven Imperials ranging from a 1928 or 29 to his most recent which was a '67. One of his cars was a '62 Imperial convertible which he eventually sold to someone in East Texas (Tyler I think). He had a '56 Desoto convertible which was white and pink with a corresponding color interior (black/white/pink). I was treated to a ride in the Desoto convertible one time I visited him. Bob's main business when I met him was restoring and selling old jukeboxes. When he would finish working on one it looked and sounded just like new. He had a number of special decals and appearance items made up for Imperials. I have one item which was to take the place of a front license plate showing the Imperial Eagle in gold with the red, white and blue ribbon in its beak plus the oak leaf and arrows held by the feet. He generously gave me these items. There was a friend of Bob in West that has more Imperials. I had one or two e-mail contacts with him years ago, but forgot his name. Bob used to work part time at "Molly's Antiques" on the east side of I-35 there in West. I spotted his '62 Imperial convertible and stopped to meet him probably about 1982 or so. I have been trying to find a telephone number and/or address for him to no avail. I am wondering if Bob Gidney is still alive, and if so how I might get in touch with him. Joe Joseph W.
