Also, if you rear end is sitting too high, you may have to adjust the drive shaft angle. Does this car vibrate on acceleration at around 30 to 40 mph? If so, that is why. There usually are shims under the mounting for the drive shaft center bearing, and also at the rear axle support struts. These need to be added or subtracted in order to obtain the correct angle. The procedure is outlined in the FSM.
You can't change the hieght of the rear end without throwing this adjustment way off. If the car doesn't vibrate, it is probably fine, but it might vibrate with people in the back seat. Over the years, it is difficult to say what changes have been made. Even so, the drive shaft angle can be checked to determine if it is within specifications, and should be checked again if more work is done to change the hieght of the car.
