Joe: I am just an amateur at this, but I too put a flight sweep trunk lid on my '62. Let me tell you...don't do that unless you can find the correct trunk lift. It took me over a year to find one. There was one on eBay recently and it sold for $212. I believe that the 60 - 63 require the same lift. I do not know if the '50s lid will fit a '62...it would take some very close measurements, but I question that they will. I also had to purchase a new medallion for the center and my aluminum background cleaned up some. Mine is a '61 flight sweep deck lid. The medallion cost $150...I don't know what the '59 has for a center. My suggestion might be to contact Neil Freman of www.fremansauto.com fremansauto@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 406 287 5436. He is very knowledgeable and has quite a few Imperials

Does anyone know if a flight-sweep deck lid from a '59 will fit a '62? I have one from years ago that I was thinking of putting on my '62. The trunk latch arrangement looks different.
Also, has anyone had rust holes on one repaired? The one I acquired had rusted through in places.
What about refinishing the aluminum center trim piece that the '59 flight-sweep deck lid has. There is some corrosion on the one I have and it needs cleaning and possibly re-anodizing. Does anyone do this?
