whenever i got to the point where i felt i would do damage if i kept swinging my BFH, i would remove the puller and place it on different lugs, start all over again and it wouuld come off. it seems that when you get to the point of fearing another hit on the puller that is when another couple of hits does the trick. some people leave the puller on overnite and they say that during the nite the drum will pop off, just be sure to leave the axle nut on loose so the drum and puller don;t fly off and do damage. a quality puller and a BFH will always work. the first time you try this it is nerve-wracking hitting away on your car with a sledge, but that is part of owning one of these great cars. do not use heat to help this process as you can do damage to axle seals.  dennis
