IML: D.C. Dealership research

Hi All,

My '60 Crown was purchased new in D.C. and I did hear back from the grandaughter of the original dealer's owner L. P. Steuart.  This was her response:

I just received your e-mail!  How neat!  My grandfather was L.P. Steuart!  My oldest brother and sister and I still work in our Volvo/VW dealership in N.W. D.C.   Our business just celebrated 100 years in 2004 and I will send you some information that we handed out at that time. We had Volvo down at 1440 P St. but moved it uptown to Wisconsin Ave. in May of 1970.  I don?t know what we have in terms of pictures; I will have to have my brother look into that!  Good Luck!

I sent her some more information/pictures so we'll see what they can provide.  The only reason I really pursued this was that the dealer made so many alterations to my car when it was new.  Martens has the country's only stand-alone VW service center and their site says they service 3000 VWs a month!
That's a big dealership!  Imperials to VWs, sad sad sad.  ha ha.
