OK. So the dealership research that we've got archived so far is limited to what has been "easy" on a more general basis. -Things that fell into the trap while searching for bigger game, in other words. That would be the items that have appeared in the regular process of seeking out information on our favorite car, without doing any intensive searching for dealership info or individual dealerships per-se. Currently the crown jewel is: http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1958/Normandin/index.htm I say that because we got a little "hate mail" last week about it from some old biddy that was mildly offended that we only listed 2 of the 8 relatives involved in the operation and not her buddy that was the smartest and hardest working of all of them. Google is a funny thing, and it drops people straight out of orbit into a particular page, and I guess that it is somehow against human nature to bother to check the surroundings before going to town on the messages sent in. The people with manual-gearbox chevvy LUV pickups writing in and asking for clarification on our repair archives would be another good example of this, and we've had 2 of THOSE in the last decade. So anyway, back to the dealership thing: We've managed to snag other images of dealerships, and postcards seem to be the only tangible artifacts that are floating around. The criteria that we use for the website is that it must say the word IMPERIAL or show a car somehow to qualify, and we've so far come up with the following: http://www.imperialclub.com/Articles/Postcards/index.htm If you're on board with this thread and find it interesting enought do do some of your own sleuthing, I have a favor to ask: Would you mind sharing the results in a way that will allow us to add to our records so that we can put what you find in the library? This would essentially be a written record and any photos that you can scare up sent to the club website email address (see "CONTACT US" buttons on site). We don't have the time to filter through the IML messages to capture things, and the banter that we see on the IML often isn't enough to hang one's hat on regarding creating useful reference material on the site. It's tough to do this effectively with so few volunteers in the Webmonster section, so anything that you can offer us is a huge help. ======================= Also want to put a plug in for our currently empty "IMPERIALS IN THE MOVIES" job. People spot stuff all the time and write in. We hang onto these notices, and we think that grabbing the clips and posting them is a fun resource, but there's nobody to do this right now. Would you consider renting some movies with Imperials in them? If so, we'd really like to hear from you. Here is what we have so far: http://www.imperialclub.com/Movies/index.htm I "think" that the list of potential donors is probably up to 40+ other titles, so we're getting past due for some attention there.... ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for earth-friendly autos?
