Javier:
I purchased a set of the D10 pads (sounds like a bra size) about a month ago from a small local hole in the wall brake shop that only sells brake parts.
He only had the one set and said that he probably could not get any more. I think this was just dumb luck that I found them.
However, it might work for you if you could also find such a place?
I have searched on-line and in all the usual places with no luck.
Others have discussed having the old backing plates "re-padded". This is an option if you can find someone to do it. Note that the backing plates are of a very simple design and look as if they are cut out of ca. 1/4 steel plate. They are totally flat. It would not be much of a stretch to get the backing plates fabricated and then re-padded. Of course the cost goes up, but if you gotta have them!!!!!!!
Note as an aside. I am working on the front Budd brakes of my 69 LeBaron and have them completely apart. I was looking at the steering knuckles and the geometry and distance between the upper and lower ball joint positions appears to be identical to the steering knuckles that I have from a 73 Newport and to the steering knuckles from a 76 Gran Fury. What is more interesting is that the Gran Fury has the same knuckle arm set up as the Imperial with the lower ball joint in the lower control arm. I would bet money that you could use either of these steering knuckles to replace the Imperial Budd brakes.
I know that this is herasey and since there are new rotors and re-sleved calipers available, keeping the Budd brakes is more practical. However, it appears that the pads are the limiting factor now in rebuilding these barkes.
Also note that I have still not heard from calipersonline if they even received my cores or money. Both should have been there one week ago. Getting nervous.
