You'll need to have a dial indicator mounted to the brake support as shown in the '73 manual at http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1973/FSM/Chassis/html/03-034.htmI am in the process of putting the rear end of my 69 LeBaron back together. I have the driver side axle in and torqued to 35 ft/lbs.What is the best way to proceed with the axle wiith the adjuster? I have read the FSM and would like some additional suggestions/input.
When you set the end play, wiggle the axle in and out of the housing a few times and check it again . . . and then do this again a couple more times just to be sure.
If the end play is not set correctly, you'll be doing the job again in short order.
Good luck!
